Today was the special Mother's Day Celebration at Tristan's class.  I am blessed with a job which allows for personal days so that I can attend things like this.  It made me sad to see the little ones who did not have moms there.  But, as for my son, he was terribly anxious.  (as usual).  He did a great job.
They began with a reading of the book Just For You by Mercer Mayer.  Very cute.  The pictures were up on the board and the kids read it in pairs.

Tristan and Lexi read their page loud and clear.
Originally Tristan was meant to go first to read his poem, but he was too nervous, so he ended up waiting until last.
 Waiting for his turn.
Up next.  Clearly focusing on the task at hand.  :)
Nervous but he read well with the support of Mrs. Estep.
Ready to recite a poem about Mothers as a group.
Behind him in pink is his "friend" Jordan.
PS....He has a crush on her.  He has good taste don't you think?  She's adorable!
PLUS, she reads above grade level!!!!!
His reaction to the announcement that mothers were invited to stay and read some books with their children and even go out to recess with them.  :)
Showing me some of his work from his Author's Journal.
ummm....I'm not really sure what this is.
Putting the room back in order.  The cute little girl on the right is McKenzie.  She is the coolest girl in his class....because she. likes. POKEMON!!!!!!  :)
Holding the poem he wrote and colored....complete with a beautiful purple butterfly just for me.
"It's your butterfly Mommy."
So proud of this little man. Love love love!!!!
